Derby County are closing in on a move for Bobby Clark in a deal that could be worth around £6m for the former Liverpool midfielder.

Derby are eager to start their transfer business with intent and are believed to be heading towards an agreement with RB Salzburg.

According to John Percy of the Telegraph, Clark could even undertake a medical this week should the two clubs reach an agreement.

Derby head coach John Eustace has been eager for Derby to begin the window with intent with Clark one of his top priorities after expressing his desire to see him make a permanent move this summer.

Other clubs have been interested in Clark, but the player made it clear at the end of last season that he would love to play for the club again.

The former Liverpool midfielder was a huge hit in the dressing room and on the terraces and this summer he has been away on holiday with Rams team-mate Dion Sanderson.

Salzburg had been looking to recoup much of the £8m they paid Liverpool for his services with the Austrian club set to appoint Rangers boss Danny Rohl as their new manager later this week.
