Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea given€120m asking price for World Cup star

Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea have been told they need €120m if they’re to sign Felix Nmecha from Borussia Dortmund this summer.

BILD report that Dortmund have set a high asking price for the 25-year-old, who is currently starring at the World Cup with Germany.

€120m asking price

The newspaper explains that Felix Nmecha has suddenly found himself as the great hope of Germany following his performance in the 7-1 win over Curaçao.

He has plenty of admirers, but Dortmund don’t intend to sanction a sale. They’ve already extended his contract until 2030 in March this year. That includes a release clause for 2027 valued at €80m.

That’s to ward off interest this summer. If any clubs come calling during this summer window, Dortmund want at least €120m. That’s a base price for negotiations.

The big clubs are lining up, though. Real Madrid are reportedly keen, while he is highly sought after in England. Manchester United and Manchester City are long-term admirers. According to BILD, Chelsea are also believed to be interested. No clubs have submitted a bid to Dortmund as yet.

Premier League interest

If they do make a bid, it would take a ‘hefty financial offer’ to get him. The midfielder would presumably also demand a huge wage packet to move to the Premier League this summer.

Whether any of the Premier League trio would pay such a huge sum, remains to be seen. Reports have linked them with a move for months.

Sport Witness covered a report back in March that explained Manchester City had nudged into the battle with Chelsea and Manchester United for the midfielder. That’s just one of numerous reports from Germany hyping up a potential transfer this summer.

Now it seems that Borussia Dortmund want to shut the whole thing down. It’ll be €120m or nothing this summer for Germany’s new star.
