Arsenal are reportedly set to activate a £45million option to sign Ecuadorian defender Piero Hincapié, with a long-term contract already agreed in principle, according to latest transfer reports.
The defender, currently playing for Bayer Leverkusen, has emerged as a key defensive target for Arsenal as the club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season.
The reported agreement would see Arsenal move quickly to secure one of the Bundesliga’s most highly rated young defenders, with formal activation of the clause expected in the coming weeks.
