The summer transfer window is officially open, and Liverpool are expected to be active under new head coach Andoni Iraola, with both arrivals and departures on the agenda.

Mohamed Salah, Ibrahima Konate and Andy Robertson are all set to move on, along with academy graduate Rhys Williams.

The arrival of Jeremy Jacquet is expected to ease the impact of Konate’s exit, but further reinforcements are still needed.

Darwin Nunez, who left for Al Hilal last summer, has been linked with a surprise free-transfer return to Anfield just a year later, although the reports appear unconvincing.

The Uruguayan is one of several attacking options being considered, with Yan Diomande of RB Leipzig among the more expensive targets.

Liverpool could also face a battle to keep hold of key players, including midfielder Curtis Jones. Meanwhile, according to The Athletic, Under-21s defender Carter Pinnington has agreed a permanent move to West Bromwich Albion, with no upfront fee but add-ons based on appearances and a sell-on clause included.

Liverpool have a strong relationship with West Brom, whose technical director Dominic Price previously worked as a first-team analyst at Anfield.

Pinnington joined Liverpool’s academy at the under-7 level but never made a senior appearance for the club, though he was named on the bench for the Carabao Cup tie against Crystal Palace last October. Crystal Palace were also interested in the defender.

Pinnington is a commanding centre-half who signed his first professional contract with Liverpool in May 2024. He can also operate as a holding midfielder and made his U18s debut while still an U16 player in the 2022–23 season.

As a first-year scholar in 2023–24, he featured mainly for Barry Lewtas’ U21s side. Born in Bebington in Wirral, he has been with the Liverpool Academy since U7 level.

In October 2025, he was included in a senior matchday squad for the first time for the Carabao Cup tie against Crystal Palace at Anfield.

If the deal materialises, it could be a good move for Pinnington, who will get the chance to test himself in first-team football next season at West Bromwich Albion.
