Earlier this month, Feyenoord announced that Robin van Persie was leaving the club following the side’s end-of-season review.

The 2025/26 season saw Feyenoord come runners-up to PSV in the Dutch league, with a 19 point gap between the two.

Ultimately, coming second in the Eredivisie wasn’t enough to keep the former Manchester United striker in the role until the end of his contract in 2027.

Now, Feyenoord are set for a new manager, with Giovanni van Bronkhorst favourite to take on the role, however it’s not the only thing set to change.

In an announcement on their official website, Feyenoord explained that the club have now parted ways with assistant managers Rene Hake and Brian Pinas.

The club’s announcement confirmed: “Feyenoord has parted ways with René Hake and Brian Pinas.”

The statement continued: “The duo were part of the coaching staff of Feyenoord’s first team last season, but will leave the club as well, following the departure of head coach Robin van Persie.

“Just over a week ago, it was already announced that goalkeeping coach Jyri Nieminen would be leaving Feyenoord at his own request.

“Recently appointed assistant coach Said Bakkati and John de Wolf, who has served as an assistant coach since 2019, will remain at Feyenoord.”

This marked Hake’s first job since leaving Manchester United as Erik ten Hag’s assistant manager when Ruben Amorim arrived in November 2024, bringing his coaching staff with him from Sporting CP.

Now, Hake will be looking for his next club, having managed Go Ahead Eagles in The Netherlands before moving to Old Trafford in the assistant manager role.
