Liverpool fans will be keeping a close eye on events at the World Cup this summer, with several potential transfer targets and current Reds stars on show.

Yan Diomande impressed at the weekend with a player-of-the-match display for Ivory Coast against Ecuador, with his links to a move to Anfield growing.

Reports from Germany suggest Liverpool are “close” to securing a deal for the 19-year-old, although RB Leipzig are working hard to keep him.

Meanwhile, Darwin Nunez continues to be linked with a return to Merseyside after a mixed start to the tournament with Uruguay. He was substituted at half-time in their 1-1 draw with Saudi Arabia.

Another player attracting attention is Morocco’s Ayyoub Bouaddi, who impressed against Brazil and is reportedly on Liverpool’s radar alongside Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain.

Alex Scott is also attracting interest from Liverpool. Bournemouth value the highly sought-after midfielder at around £80 million and remain determined to keep him this summer. The Cherries are hopeful Scott will sign a new contract.

According to talkSPORT, Arsenal are the latest Premier League side showing strong interest in Bournemouth’s Alex Scott.

The midfielder, who narrowly missed out on a place in England’s World Cup squad, remains in high demand this summer, with Manchester United also monitoring his situation.

The Gunners are considering an approach for Scott, who is a boyhood Tottenham Hotspur fan. Bournemouth are reluctant to sell the midfielder and are in ongoing talks over a new contract, which is expected to include a significant release clause.

The 22-year-old was signed by new Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola in 2023 and has since made 80 Premier League appearances, scoring four goals. Last season, the Englishman featured in 39 matches in all competitions, scoring four goals and providing one assist.

Bournemouth endured significant squad changes last summer but are hoping Europa League qualification can help them avoid further major departures.

The club finished sixth in the 2025-26 Premier League season under Iraola, securing European football for the first time in their history.

They previously lost Milos Kerkez, Illia Zabarnyi and Dean Huijsen to Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, respectively. At the same time, Kepa Arrizabalaga’s loan move was not made permanent, with the goalkeeper instead joining Arsenal.
