The World Cup may be in full swing, but so too is transfer activity for Liverpool. It has been virtually impossible to go more than a few hours without spotting a player the Reds are being linked with featuring across the USA, Mexico and Canada.
The summer window has barely been open three days, yet that has not stopped Liverpool being touted with an interest in the likes of Yan Diomande and Morocco's Ayyoub Bouaddi.
Nevertheless, it is the prospect of Darwin Nunez making a return to Anfield that has truly captured the imagination, with today's developments seeing the Uruguayan's feelings towards the Reds come back into focus. Elsewhere, Manchester United have outlined their terms for a potentially sensational piece of business.

Nunez's feelings towards Liverpool
Speculation surrounding Nunez heading back to the Reds has been rampant in recent days, following reports from within the Uruguayan World Cup camp claiming he is set to re-sign for Liverpool this summer.
Although those claims have been downplayed, with The Athletic suggesting any talk of the striker rejoining the club is well wide of the mark, Nunez's sentiments towards his former employers have resurfaced.
The forward completed a move to Al-Hilal from Liverpool last summer. He was, however, dropped from their squad following Karim Benzema's arrival in January, though recent remarks suggest he still holds his former club in great affection.

Speaking to AUFTV in March, he said: "Yes, I'd be lying if I said no, that I don't miss them," he said. "The truth is they made me feel very good and my family too.
"In difficult moments that I went through personally, the people always gave me that affection, that support and that was very important to me. Obviously I miss Liverpool, I miss them a lot."
Man Utd block transfer
Man Utd are said to have prevented Liverpool and Manchester City from pursuing Marcus Rashford this summer. The Athletic has reported that the forward is available for £40million owing to a clause in his contract, but that clause does not extend to the Reds or City, United's fiercest rivals.
Rashford spent last season on loan at Barcelona, where he contributed to the club's La Liga triumph, netting 14 goals and providing ten assists. Nevertheless, the Spanish giants have opted against making his switch permanent and the 28-year-old is expected to return to Old Trafford.

Clubs including Arsenal and Bayern Munich have been linked with Rashford. Former Liverpool goalkeeper David James believes the Reds should explore the possibility of signing the boyhood United supporter with a speculative offer.
"If I were Liverpool, I'd look to sign Marcus Rashford. I really would," James told BetVictor. "Whether he plays on the left or the right isn't the main issue. Get him in first, and then you give it time to work out his best position. I think he's an outstanding footballer. His football intelligence is off the scale, and so is his ability."
