The Brendan Sorsby situation is one of the most interesting that we're ever going to see in the NFL.
The idea that the young man can come in and make an impact on multiple teams around the league isn't unfair, though there will certainly be questions because of his prior decisions. One team that makes a lot of sense to take a chance on Sorsby is the Cleveland Browns, a team that has been searching for a long-term quarterback over the better part of the past decade or so.
Reports indicate that Cleveland might not be too interested, but it really doesn't make much sense when you examine the situation.
Giving him a chance, at the very least, should be something they want to do. However, others don't believe that Cleveland is even the best landing spot for the young quarterback, with the Kansas City Chiefs being floated as a potential option.
“This destination makes sense for multiple reasons. Patrick Mahomes and his Red Raiders past is one, which can hand Sorsby peace in working with someone with ties to the university. Secondly, Sorsby delivered his best success at the University of Cincinnati. The Bearcats' most famous alum right now is Chiefs all-pro tight end Travis Kelce,” Lorenzo J Reyna wrote.
The Chiefs going after Sorsby would make sense in the grand scheme of things, given their desire to put him with Patrick Mahomes.
However, considering Mahomes isn't very old, and Sorsby has the potential to be a franchise-level quarterback, he probably doesn't want to end up in Kansas City. I understand that there's a Texas Tech connection there, but the connection isn't even that big, considering Sorsby was hardly with the Red Raiders.
