Fabrizio Romano bombshell: LFC leading race to complete mega£100m+ signing

**In welcome news for Liverpool fans, the Reds are currently leading the race to sign 19-year-old RB Leipzig super-talent Yan Diomande this summer.**

For the first time in nine years, Liverpool will head into a new Premier League season without Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian is leaving the club on a free transfer this summer, and FSG now have the mammoth task of replacing him.

Even if he was not at his electric best last season, he will be sorely missed, and it’s a real pity that we won’t get to see him under Andoni Iraola, who may well have been able to get the 34-year-old back to his best form.

Diomande is one of the names linked with replacing him. Despite being just 19, Liverpool are linked with a move worth around £100m. It’s a massive fee, particularly for a teenager, but given there is a dearth of elite wingers on the market, it has left them with few options to consider.

Fabrizio Romano says Liverpool have a couple of advantages over PSG in the race to sign Yan Diomande

Reporting via his [YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aECk3qGyuA8) channel, Fabrizio Romano reports that Liverpool have a few advantages in the race to sign Diomande, with PSG certainly interested, but hamstrung by a couple factors.

_“The battle is on between Liverpool and PSG,”_ the Italian journalist said.

_“But the advantage for Liverpool is not just financial, because from my understanding, they’re ready to offer more than PSG in terms of contract to the player, in order to attract him._

_“But also PSG are still waiting to find the right solution with Bradley Barcola. They have to understand if there’ll be the right proposal for Barcola, or whether they can keep him and continue with him._

_“This depends on the value of the bids. So if the right bid arrives for Barcola, for PSG it could be easier to go for Diomande._

_“But PSG are not desperate to sell Barcola. If there’s the right proposal the situation could be different. But at the moment, Liverpool behind the scenes are pushing and are aware of PSG’s interest._

_“PSG remain very keen on Diomande, but they’re offering less, so let’s see also in terms of numbers.”_

Whether or not Diomande is worth the quoted £100m price tag, there is no denying that the Ivory Coast star is a thrilling prospect.

Alexander Isak stands to be the biggest beneficiary of a Liverpool move to sign the teenager. Diomande is a chance creation machine, and Isak will thoroughly enjoy being deployed alongside such a creative and direct player.
