Bucs OC Zac Robinson.
Bucs coach Todd Bowles has a good batting average so far when picking offensive coordinators for the Bucs.
In three years he has hired three different coordinators to run the offense. First two were solid extra-base hits as both got head coaching jobs after just one season.
The third? Ground ball to short.
So Bowles is hitting .666 in choosing play-callers. What will new Bucs offensive coordinator Zac Robinson be, a home run, a single or a whiff?
Bowles was asked about Robinson yesterday. Unlike when Bowles was asked about players in underwear football (Bowles had little to say) Bowles did have substance in his answer about how Robinson has fit in on his staff.
> “He’s a stickler for execution,” Bowles said. “I really like that about him. Stickler for detail.
>
> “He has something he’s trying to get done every day, whatever they’re trying to get done, be it in the run game or the pass game or the screen game, whether it’s the blocking, whether it’s the technique, whether it’s working on turnovers.
>
> “He’s very deliberate in the things that he’s trying to do, and the guys are buying in.”
Joe likes to hear that. It seems Robinson has standards and the offense must meet those standards in practice before moving on.
Joe just hopes the production on gameday meets the practice standard.
