Manchester United‘show most interest’ in signing – €20m transfer could be a bargain

Manchester United are keen on signing Barcelona’s Marc Casadó this summer.

Last weekend, Sport Witness covered claims from Spain that the Red Devils are keeping a close watch on his situation.

Manchester United have very close ties with Casadó’s agent Jorge Mendes and that could help them secure his services.

The Spain international received interest from a few English clubs last summer but didn’t entertain them. That didn’t pay off as he settled for a restricted role under Hansi Flick this season.

To put it in context, the midfielder played 1,397 minutes from 34 matches and that includes 15 starts.

No formal bid from Manchester United

Marca state Michael Carrick’s side are in the picture and share more updates about their interest.

Marc Casadó is aware he won’t have a prominent role at Barcelona and will barely play if he were to stay. Therefore, he’s willing to leave this summer.

Several clubs have asked about him and Manchester United are one of them. The report adds the Red Devils ‘show most interest’ but haven’t converted that into a formal offer yet.

Their interest isn’t new as the English club tried to sign him in January, but the 22-year-old didn’t open the door. That isn’t the case now and the player finds the Premier League attractive.

Barcelona sporting director Deco has been tasked with managing the player’s exit. His intention is to finalise the Spaniard’s sale before June 30th to balance their books and he’s awaiting offers.

Jorge Mendes plans to travel to Barcelona in the coming days to finalise Ansu Fati’s sale to AS Monaco. He could also discuss Casadó during the upcoming trip.

Bayer Leverkusen are in the mix while unnamed Saudi clubs have made approaches. The Middle East doesn’t attract the Barca man, who prefers to continue in a competitive league in Europe.

Fee affordable for Manchester United

Marca claim the La Liga winners value Marc Casadó at €20m. His contract runs down in 2028 and is valued at €18m by Transfermarkt.

Both his value and the Barcelona’s price are certainly affordable for the Red Devils.

With the Spaniard and his club keen on a transfer, Manchester United can quickly wrap up his signing by offering €20m.
