Steelers legend Terry Bradshaw reveals feelings on retirement at age 77

Terry Bradshaw remains a frequent present on television for NFL fans.

The legendary Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback is still a part of Fox's studio show, something he's been doing for more than three decades.

Bradshaw is 77 years old now, and in an interview with Sports Business Journal, he made clear that he isn't thinking about stopping his gig.

“Retirement is not something that — I mean, I may not be with Fox. That would be their call, not mine. But I would still be speaking, but if not doing that, I’ll still work the bourbon trail.”

Bradshaw then shouted out Billy Graham as part of his logic.

“Billy Graham said that the day that you retire is the day you start dying,” Bradshaw said. “I do believe a lot of people, when they stop using their brain and keep their thought processes moving and advancing, I do think, for whatever reason, I believe you age, and people end up dying. I mean, people die within a year after retirement. So I don’t want to do that. I see myself staying fully active right up to the end, whenever that is.”

Bradshaw has been with Fox for 31 years, so whenever the day comes that he is no longer there, it'll feel quite different.

NFL broadcasters continue to do what they can to push into the future, because live sports rights are the most valuable commodity they can have.

Fox's deal with the NFL can be terminated by the league following the 2029 season, according to Pro Football Talk, so there are at least a few more seasons for Fox to keep taking positive strides that make the NFL want to stay in business with the network.

There's no telling where Bradshaw will be by then, but he isn't planning on slowing down too much.
