Marshawn Kneeland’s legacy lives on with not only his team but also his son with Catalina Mancera. Mancera was pregnant at the time of Kneeland’s death and revealed this sometime after her boyfriend passed away.
The birth of Makhai is truly bittersweet for every Cowboys fan, especially since Kneeland is no longer here to be with his son, or his girlfriend. However, Mancera has been showing immense amounts of strength and optimism soon after Kneeland’s tragic passing, even calling her pregnancy a great blessing.
“my favorite gift from you,”Catalina Mancera wrote in her Instagram post, sharing several pictures of Makhai from the hospital.
Apart from an adorable picture of Makhai dressed in a onesie with Kneeland’s picture in front, Mancera also shared a clip of her announcing her pregnancy with Kneeland at their home. The defensive end seems pretty blissful in the clip, which only tugged at the heartstrings of the audience. Mancera’s post got quite a bit of reactions, including a comment from the Cowboys official account and also Dak Prescott’s ex-girlfriend, Sarah Jane Ramos.

Marshawn Kneeland’s GF & Son Supported By Special Fund
Marshawn Kneeland’s team really pulled together to ensure that his girlfriend and their child is taken care of after his sudden passing. The Cowboys franchise announced a while ago the creation of the Marshawn Kneeland Memorial Fund to provide for Catalina Mancera and Makhai.
The entire Dallas family has shown plenty of love to Kneeland after the news of his passing, even going on to display his jersey in their locker room during games, and wearing his decals in their helmets. In fact, Dak Prescott even spoke up after Kneeland’s passing, especially since he himself lost a brother to suicide after struggling with depression.
Not just the players, but even Brian Schottenheimer declared that he considers Mancera and Makhai family, saying, “When you’re part of our family, you’re family for life.” Schottenheimer’s wife, too, seems to have struck a close bond with Mancera, with Gemmi congratulating Mancera after giving birth and admitting that she is eager to meet the little boy.
Apart from the Cowboys franchise, Mancera also has the support and love of millions of Dallas fans, all who have already accepted Kneeland’s girlfriend and their kid as one of their own family members after his tragic passing.
