Birmingham City have confirmed they will take on La Liga champions Barcelona in their showpiece summer friendly at St Andrew's @ Knighthead Park on Friday, July 31 (7:45pm).

Five-time Champions League winners Barcelona are due in England for a training camp at St George's Park as part of their pre-season under head coach Hansi Flick and agreed to visit the Second City.

It is set to be the final game before Blues begin their season the following weekend with a Carabao Cup first round match. The Championship season is due to begin on the weekend of August 15 and 16.

Blues' pre-season campaign will begin against Huddersfield Town during their training camp in Portugal before domestic matches against Burton Albion, Crewe Alexandra and Northampton Town in the lead up to the big match against Barcelona.

Barcelona will likely be without many of their household names due their participation in the World Cup. The likes of Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Gavi (all Spain), Raphinha (Brazil), Jules Kounde (France) and new signing Anthony Gordon (England) are expected to go deep into the tournament in North America and will be afforded time off to recover afterwards.

Tickets will go on sale to season ticket holders on Monday, June 22 before moving to general sale on Wednesday, July 1.

Ticket prices

Season ticket holders - adults £30, concession £20, juniors £10

Non-season ticket holders - adults £35, concession £25, juniors £15
