Alexis Mac Allister talks ‘paused’ & “multiple” Ayyoub Bouaddi meetings – Latest LFC News

Alexis Mac Allister‘s agent has again discussed the midfielder’s future, with Liverpool also reportedly holding talks over signing the highly-rated Ayyoub Bouaddi.

Mac Allister’s agent coy & contact made with Bouaddi

Speaking to WinWin, Mac Allister’s agent and father, Carlos, provided a new update on his son extending his stay at Liverpool, remaining coy about contract talks being paused.

“Alexis is in excellent shape to play in the World Cup,” Mac Allister said.

“Before the World Cup begins, it’s not possible to discuss or analyse a player’s future.”

It doesn’t exactly sound like Mac Allister is desperate to sign a new Liverpool deal, but perhaps we’re reading too much into it!

Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano has told Time2play that the Reds have “already met” with Bouaddi’s agents “multiple times” over a move, with Arsenal in the same boat and Paris Saint-Germain also keen.

The 18-year-old looks like a special young talent, dominating the midfield battle for Morocco against Brazil at the 2026 World Cup last Saturday.

• **Andoni Iraola**‘s backroom team at Bournemouth have already been replaced by new coach Marco Rose – they are yet to be appointed at Liverpool

• The Reds don’t expect to do much of their transfer business until late in the summer, which is only partly due to many targets such as Yan Diomande and Bradley Barcola being at the World Cup

• John Heitinga was seen as a “buffer” between Arne Slot and the Liverpool squad, according to Paul Joyce. It looks like he was a big loss last summer

• Liverpool goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros isn’t expected to be back until late 2026 after undergoing knee surgery. Could it affect the Reds’ summer plans between the sticks?

More from This Is Anfield

Adam Beattie has dissected Virgil van Dijk‘s 2025/26 season and his standing among the modern greats at Liverpool:

“Liverpool’s largely self-imposed capitulation as champions has directed a microscope upon the most senior of the dressing room characters. Van Dijk would admit himself that sort of thing comes with the responsibility of captaincy at a club of this size.

“This is, after all, a player who sits alongside Steven Gerrard, Mohamed Salah and Luis Suarez on an untouchable Liverpool Mount Rushmore of the Premier League era. Depending on your poison or metric, he could conceivably be considered the best of the lot.

“It was his highest-scoring season in red and that counts for something in a season otherwise lacking attacking potency, not least when one of those six goals comes in the 100th minute at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.”
