Manchester United have unexpectedly enquired for West Ham United forward, Crysencio Summerville for a potential transfer. The Dutch winger has most recently scored his first goal for Netherlands in his first World Cup. The Manchester side has placed Summerville at a higher position on its transfer shortlist. However, any transfer deal can happen when Marcus Rashford’s future is sorted.

Manchester United plans for Crysencio Summerville to join them

As reported by Yahoo Sports, Summerville has risen to become a strong transfer target for Man United. The Dutchman has got the attention from the club hierarchy at Old Trafford. This popularity came just after he scored a goal for Netherlands against Japan in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The fixture ended in a 2-2 draw against the Asian nation.

His club, West Ham United have found themselves to be relegated to EFL Championship after finishing 18th in Premier League this season. Despite being unable to secure the Premier League status, the 24-year-old’s value has increased during the World Cup. The Dutch international scored a brilliant goal from outside the box in Netherlands’ 2-2 draw against Japan. Alongside, this season went very well for him personally. He has delivered good performances for the Hammers.

Man United have done an enquiry formally for Summerville. This is the only contact they have made so far for the Dutch winger. Summerville still has 3 years left in his current deal. His contract with the East London club will officially expire in June, 2029. West Ham needs to sell players as they are facing financial crisis after relegation.

Crysencio Summerville’s stats for West Ham United in 2025-26 season, according to FOTMOB:

Michael Carrick focuses on tactically fit forwards

As reported by The New York Times, Manchester United’s scouting team appreciates the forward for a very long time. His physicality and technical abilities have pleased the scouts. Summerville will be a good tactical fit in United’s setup.

The **Red Devils**‘ head coach, Michael Carrick believes the Dutchman to be a top notch player to strengthen his attack. Summerville’s pace and his trait of cutting inside from the left flank could bolster any team’s forward line. He creates a consistent goal threat throughout the game.

Manchester United’s board members have assured themselves that Crysencio Summerville is the best fit for them. His explosive display on the highest level of international tournament proves that he can handle the pressure of Champions League football. If he joins United, it will be a step up in his football career.

Why Summerville’s move depends on Rashford’s future?

As reported by Goal, the price which West Ham have set for the winger is €57.8m. Any move for Summerville completely depends on Marcus Rashford. The English forward spent the last season on loan at Barcelona. He had a €30m buy option in his loan deal which has expired on Monday. The Spanish club has decided not to welcome him on a permanent deal.

Rashford has to return to Carrington as his loan deal has expired. If Rashford decides to fulfill the two years remaining on his contract then a potential transfer of Summerville will not happen. The Red Devils aims to permanently offload the Englishman by sanctioning a permanent sale. As reported by Sky Sports, Rashford has a €46m release clause for the clubs wanting him to buy, except Manchester City and Liverpool.
