'An honour for me': £26m German star reacts to Arsenal interest after 23-goal season

Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi has said that he is honoured to be linked with Arsenal after an impressive season.

The German signed for Brugge from Hannover last summer. He had a wonderful debut campaign, scoring 23 goals and providing nine assists from 58 appearances.

His progress caught the eye of Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann. Tresoldi was close to making the World Cup squad and could make his national team debut soon.

Meanwhile, Tresoldi has been linked with a surprise move to Arsenal. Back in April, it was revealed that sporting director Andrea Berta has already opened talks with Brugge for him.

When pressed on the reported interest, the 21-year-old said he is not sure about it, but added that he is honoured to be associated with such clubs at the current stage of his career.

He said: “I don’t know if that’s true. But it’s nice to be associated with such clubs. This is an honour for me, and it means that I am on a good path.

“I want to keep working hard and win trophies. As for my future, I am completely relaxed.”

Tresoldi could be signed as Jesus replacement

Jesus will enter the final year of his Arsenal contract next month. The Gunners have already received enquiries and they have quoted £20m for a possible transfer.

With Jesus’ high wages, the Gunners may need to ultimately lower the price tag. We believe a transfer for the Brazilian could be on the cards for a fee of around £15m.

If that were to happen, Arsenal could step up their pursuit of Tresoldi, who they have been closely monitoring. Berta has identified him as a backup striker option.

The Germany Under-21 international is reportedly valued at £26m.
