CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Joe Burrow says the Bengals have everything they need heading into a season that comes with a sense of urgency.
Burrow met with the media for the first time since NFL insiders reported he and the Bengals restructured his contract to free up $10 million in cap space.
Cincinnati’s star quarterback explained Wednesday that the move gives the Bengals more financial flexibility, which is something he said he’s been willing to do.

NFL insiders said the Bengals’ restructuring of Burrow’s contract was partly because of the money Cincinnati needed for the Dexter Lawrence trade.
Restructuring Burrow’s contract, making the big trade for Lawrence, and signing big defensive free agents are moves that have helped the Bengals become a more well-rounded football team.
Burrow admitted this offseason has now put “a lot of urgency” on the Bengals to perform at a Super Bowl level this season.
“We’re going in expecting to win every game we step on the field,” Burrow said Wednesday. “Obviously, you want to win a Super Bowl; that’s the plan. I’m excited for the journey.”
Burrow and the Bengals are done with mandatory minicamp.
The players have a break before returning to Cincinnati for training camp on July 29.
