'Everything we need': Joe Burrow knows Bengals have no excuses to not win Super Bowl

The Cincinnati Bengals are hungry. They got to the Super Bowl back in 2022 with the core of Ja'Marr Chase and Joe Burrow but have not come back since. 2027 might be the year where their unfortunate luck stops. Dexter Lawrence found himself in the revamped roster along with Boye Mafe and Bryan Cook to help with their chances of hoisting the Vince Lombardi trophy. It was all Burrow could ask for and he now knows they can finally focus on winning it all.

Burrow posits Bengals have everything and have no excuses to not win Super Bowl

The Bengals, for the longest time, have felt like they had missing pieces for a Super Bowl run. It also did not help that Trey Hendrickson left to join the Baltimore Ravens, Cam Taylor-Britt went to the Indianapolis Colts, and Logan Wilson opted to go into retirement. Joe Burrow was also often injured which meant that going on a title run became more difficult.

Now, barring all possibilities of an injury, the Bengals finally have a realistic shot of making it to the Super Bowl. Burrow knows this and he outlined that they have no excuses in falling short, via Kevin Patra of NFL.com.

"This is a lot of urgency, a lot of urgency this year, certainly. We have everything we need. We're deep at just about every single position on the team. We've talked in the locker room this year about in years past, you wonder who's going to make the team, and it was top-heavy, and you wonder about the bottom guys. This year, it's guys that were once that top level, they're on the team for sure now, but there's a lot of competition at those spots on the 53, 54, 55, at the end of that list. This is the first year that that is really the case in my opinion. It's an exciting place to be when you have too many good players," Burrow said about this newly revamped Bengals roster.

Burrow and the Bengals ended their 2025 season with only six wins which landed them third in the AFC North behind the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers. At this point, making the postseason will be a given but their success will be measured upon how dominant the Super Bowl run is.

Usually, stars tend to stay quiet when it comes to preseason predictions about their records but Burrow feels differently about their roster. He even made a bold declaration about how many wins the Bengals will churn out for the season.

"We're going in expecting to win every game that we step foot on the field. Obviously, you want to win a Super Bowl, and that's certainly the plan, but you've got to take it one day at a time, one week at a time. I'm excited for the journey," the Bengals quarterback added.

There is a lot of pressure because of these declarations made by Burrow. Time will now start to tick for the Bengals. Will Lawrence, Chase, Mafe, and Cook prove to be needle-moving players once the season rolls around?
