Manchester United continue to monitor the summer transfer market as Michael Carrick looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season.
The Red Devils have already been active in identifying attacking options, with recruitment focused on adding more quality and depth in key areas.
United have been linked with several young forwards across Europe as they look to build a squad capable of competing at the highest level.
One player who had also attracted attention from Old Trafford has now moved closer to joining a Premier League rival.
Victor Munoz set to sign for Liverpool
Liverpool are reportedly set to complete a deal for Osasuna winger Victor Munoz after moving ahead of Newcastle and Manchester United in the race for his signature.
Newcastle was initially leading the race for his signature.
The 22-year-old is said to have agreed a six-year contract at Anfield, with Liverpool prepared to trigger his £34.6 million (€40 million) release clause.
Fabrizio Romano revealed the development on X, with the Reds now expected to make Victor Munoz their first signing of the summer window.
The Spanish winger has emerged as one of Europe’s most exciting young attackers after a breakthrough campaign that significantly increased his reputation.
Munoz joined Osasuna from Real Madrid last summer and quickly established himself as an important figure, delivering 7 goals and 5 assists across 36 appearances.
His performances earned interest from several Premier League clubs, including Newcastle, while Manchester United also made enquiries about the forward.
However, Liverpool have moved quickly to secure his services and appear to have won the race for one of the most wanted young wide players available.
Munoz is currently away representing Spain at the World Cup, where his growing profile has continued to attract attention.
