After an encouraging second half of the season, attention at Old Trafford has now shifted firmly toward shaping a more competitive squad heading into the 2026/27 season.
Midfield remains the priority position for United’s recruitment team, but work is also being done to explore attacking reinforcements.
That has now led to fresh movement in the market, with the club stepping up interest in a Premier League winger currently on the books at West Ham United.
Crysencio Summerville offered contract by Manchester United
Manchester United have opened talks over a potential move for Netherlands international Crysencio Summerville, with the club also tabling a long-term contract offer running until 2031, with an option until 2032, as reported by Nicolo Schira on X.
The 24-year-old is being viewed as a possible addition to increase depth and quality in wide areas, with United looking to add more firepower following a strong goalscoring season from their recent attacking signings.
West Ham, however, are expected to demand a significant fee, with reports suggesting a valuation of around £50 million for the winger.
Summerville’s Premier League campaign last season saw him register 5 goals and 4 assists, although his side were ultimately relegated to the Championship.
Despite that, his performances and potential have kept him on the radar of several top clubs, with Manchester United now actively engaged in discussions over a possible deal.
The Netherlands international has also continued to raise his profile on the international stage, scoring in his country’s 2-2 World Cup draw against Japan on Sunday.
United’s recruitment strategy remains focused on building depth across the squad, with Carrick keen to ensure the side are fully equipped for the demands of domestic and European competition next season.
If negotiations progress over the coming weeks, Crysencio Summerville could become another important addition in Manchester United’s wider squad rebuild under Carrick as the club look to strengthen both depth and quality ahead of a demanding return to European football.
