Manchester United’s recruitment strategy continues to place a strong emphasis on future stars as the club intensifies efforts to secure some of the most highly rated teenagers in English football.
Since INEOS took a minority stake at Old Trafford, there has been a noticeable shift towards targeting elite young talent, with scouting networks across the country increasingly active.
That approach has now brought United into direct competition with rivals Manchester City for one of their most promising academy prospects.
United are reportedly trying to sign 16-year-old midfielder David Eze from City, with the highly rated youngster even visiting Carrington this week as part of discussions with multiple interested clubs, as reported by Manchester United Youth on X.
David Eze is widely regarded as one of the standout young midfielders in England, with scouts impressed by his ability to control games from deep while also carrying the ball forward into advanced areas.
The teenager also holds an Irish passport, adding to his international appeal as clubs monitor his development closely.
United’s interest is not isolated, with a wider youth recruitment drive also taking shape across the academy system.
Derby County U15 striker Blake Henry is another player expected to join Manchester United, having already built a reputation as one of the most prolific young forwards in the country.
Liverpool pair Isaac Konde and Vincent Joseph are also understood to be on United’s radar, as the club continues to track emerging talents from rival academies.
The overall strategy highlights a clear long-term vision at Old Trafford, with United determined to secure the best young prospects before they establish themselves elsewhere in the Premier League system.
If United can complete these deals, it would further underline their commitment to building a new generation of elite talent for the future.
