Arsenal are set to step up their pursuit of highly-rated Georgian prospect Andria Bartishvili, with the club preparing an offer for the teenage midfielder.
The 17-year-old is regarded as one of the brightest young talents in Georgian football and has attracted attention from several clubs across Europe.
Arsenal are understood to be exploring a pre-contract [agreement](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/cwy06e2gx56o) for Bartishvili, whose current deal with Georgian side FC Kolkheti runs until the end of 2026.
Discussions over a potential move are ongoing, although the Premier League champions are expected to face competition for his signature.
A number of clubs from Italy have been credited with an interest in the youngster, including Juventus, as his reputation continues to grow.
Bartishvili spent last season on loan with Iberia 1999, where he gained valuable first-team experience in the Georgian top flight.
The attacking midfielder helped Iberia mount a strong title challenge as the club finished second in the league, missing out on the championship by just a single point.
While his senior career is still in its early stages, the teenager has already established himself as one of the most promising players in his country.
Bartishvili came through the youth ranks at Dinamo Tbilisi before continuing his development with Kolkheti.
He made his senior debut at just 16 years old and quickly earned recognition as one of the youngest players to feature in the Georgian top division.
His breakthrough season also included his first senior goal, which came during his loan spell with Iberia 1999.
However, it is on the international stage where Bartishvili has arguably generated the greatest attention.
The youngster has represented Georgia at youth level and has already featured for the country’s Under-21 side despite still being only 17 years of age.
His performances have led to comparisons with fellow Georgian star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who has developed into one of Europe’s most dangerous attacking players.
Italian agent Christian Zaccardo, who previously recommended Kvaratskhelia to Napoli before his move to Italy, has spoken positively about Bartishvili’s potential.
The former World Cup winner described the teenager as a player capable of developing into a top-level performer in the future.
Arsenal have made a habit of targeting elite young talent under Mikel Arteta, with the club continuing to invest heavily in both the first team and academy structure.
The arrivals of players such as Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman into the senior picture have highlighted the pathway available to young footballers at the Emirates Stadium.
Bartishvili would initially be viewed as a long-term project, but Arsenal’s willingness to move early reflects the growing belief that the Georgian midfielder could develop into a significant talent in the years ahead.
With interest building across Europe, Arsenal now appear ready to make their move.
