Liverpool have completed a deal to sign versatile Osasuna forward Victor Munoz, but they aren’t stopping there.
The Reds hijacked advanced Newcastle United negotiations to steal Munoz’s signature, agreeing a deal to pay the Spaniard’s €40million (£34.6m) release clause. The 22-year-old has signed a six-year contract and has already completed a medical, conducted at Spain’s World Cup camp in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
The La Liga star has been one of the most thrilling players to watch in Spain’s top flight in the last 12 months, earning a call-up to the national team where he is expected to be a valuable substitute.
He will likely play a similar role for Liverpool. However, he is not the last attacker that FSG will sign for new head coach Andoni Iraola.
Liverpool have alternative targets in case Yan Diomande chase doesn’t bear fruits
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Liverpool are still chasing a deal to sign Yan Diomande, but despite being “optimistic” that they can complete a deal for the £112m-rated star, they do have contingencies in case RB Leipzig don’t sell him or sell him to PSG instead.

After the capture of Munoz, Jacobs reported: “Liverpool will sign another attacker/winger in addition to Victor Muñoz. Optimism remains on Yan Diomande, but due to competition with PSG, and Leipzig’s asking price, there are other targets.
“Understand pace is the key criteria. Also on the list are Köln’s Said El Mala, Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh and Lille’s Matias Fernandez-Pardo. All options in case Diomande doesn’t arrive. Bradley Barcola another player Liverpool have looked at this summer.”

They all excel with the ball at their feet and are creatively inclined. Liverpool are clearly searching for providers to feed their elite No.9, Alexander Isak, who is returning to his best. The 26-year-old has two goals and two assists in three games for Sweden since departing Merseyside for international duty at the World Cup.
