Liverpool have officially confirmed their £34.5 million signing of Spain winger Victor Munoz from Osasuna after triggering the release clause in his contract.
Munoz joins Liverpool in a deal worth £34.5 million after undergoing medical checks while at Spain’s World Cup camp in the United States.
The 22-year-old has signed a six-year contract to join Jeremy Jacquet and Ifeanyi Ndukwe as new arrivals this summer.
A natural left winger, Munoz is capable of playing across the front line and This Is Anfield understands he is viewed as the ideal multifunctional attacker for Andoni Iraola‘s side.
It was Iraola who pushed for his signing in early squad planning meetings, with the club having already identified him as a possible target.

Who is Victor Munoz?
Full Name: Victor Munoz VillanuevaAge: 22 (July 13, 2003)Height: 5’8″ (173cm)Birthplace: Barcelona, Spain
Club: OsasunaPosition: Winger (Left)Foot: RightRelease Clause: €40m (£34.6m)
Munoz is seen as having clear potential for rapid and significant improvement, and will join the likes of Cody Gakpo, Rio Ngumoha and Federico Chiesa as wide options.
Liverpool secured his signing ahead of Newcastle, who had already agreed a deal with Osasuna, while there was further interest from Man United and Bayer Leverkusen.
He is not expected to be the only attacker to join in the coming weeks, with Liverpool still pushing for a deal for RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande.
That comes with Mohamed Salah already departed, Hugo Ekitike out for the long term and Chiesa likely to leave in pursuit of regular first-team football.
It was widely acknowledged that Liverpool were already a winger short last season after Luis Diaz‘s move to Bayern Munich, but there were concerns that any new arrival at the time would block Ngumoha’s pathway.
Munoz’s versatility means he is not a direct threat to Ngumoha’s development and the 17-year-old should feature prominently under Iraola.

Though he is now confirmed as a Liverpool player, Munoz will not link up with his new team-mates until later in the summer, as he remains on duty with Spain at the World Cup.
His involvement in pre-season will depend on Spain’s progress at the tournament, though they have already been held to a 0-0 draw by Cape Verde in their opening game.
Liverpool will pay the £34.5 million in two instalments and Osasuna owe 50 percent of that to Real Madrid after negotiating a sell-on clause upon his €6 million move in 2025.
