De’Von Achane Listed as the Best Miami Dolphins RB Over the Last 20 Seasons On PFF

Over the last three seasons, Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane has been one of the most underrated running backs in the NFL. During the 2025 NFL season with Miami, he rushed for 1,350 yards on 238 carries and eight touchdowns, along with averaging 5.7 yards per carry. Achane also caught 67 passes for 488 yards receiving and four touchdowns, along with averaging 7.3 yards per reception. He is only 24 years old and has a lot of room to grow here.

During this offseason, he was mentioned in trade rumors, but the Dolphins were not willing to part ways with him. The Dolphins view him as someone who will be with them for the long-term. Miami has had many different running backs in the backfield over the last 20 seasons.

Nathan Jahnke of profootballfocus.com listed the best Dolphins offensive players over the last 20 seasons. He has Achane as the Dolphins best running back over the last 20 years. Jahnke said,

“The Dolphins have spent much of the last 20 years as a middle-of-the-pack NFL team. They haven’t advanced past the wild-card round since 2000, and their best offensive players were spread across different eras rather than concentrated on a single contender. Miami fielded an excellent offensive line early in the PFF era but lacked stability at quarterback. Later, the Dolphins found that stability with Ryan Tannehill, though the supporting cast around him wasn’t strong enough to elevate the offense.

More recent Dolphins teams produced Miami’s most explosive offenses, led by Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle and De’Von Achane, but they still lacked enough overall talent to make a deep playoff run.”

Miami had one of the weakest offensive rosters over the last 20 years. With Achane at running back, Ryan Tannehill was also the quarterback. Tyreek Hill, Jarvis Landry, and Jaylen Waddle were the wide receivers. Anthony Fasano and Mike Gesicki were the tight ends. Richie Incognito and Mike Pouncey were some of the key offensive linemen on that roster. Achane hopes to be productive for the Dolphins for the next several seasons here.
