Ruben Amorim has wasted little time making his mark at AC Milan.

The former Manchester United manager has completed his first signing since arriving at the San Siro earlier this week.

The Portuguese coach was officially appointed by Milan just months after being dismissed by Manchester United in January, ending a turbulent spell at Old Trafford.

Since his arrival in Italy, there has already been speculation surrounding several players with United connections.

Manuel Ugarte has recently been linked with a potential move to AC Milan.

Recent reports suggested that he had been offered to the Serie A giants.

Meanwhile, Diogo Dalot recently reacted to Milan’s announcement of Ruben Amorim on Instagram.

It was a notable development given the Manchester United defender previously spent the 2020/21 season on loan at the club.

Milan activate buy-back clause

According to an official statement published on AC Milan’s website, the club have exercised a buy-back clause to bring one of football’s brightest young talents back to San Siro.

That player is Francesco Camara.

He will officially rejoin Milan on 1 July after the Rossoneri activated their option to re-sign the striker.

The 18-year-old only completed a permanent move away from Milan earlier this week after Lecce triggered a purchase option following his loan spell during the 2025/26 season.

However, AC Milan quickly moved to secure his return by activating the buy-back clause included in the agremeent.

Camarda is regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in European football.

He became the youngest player in Serie A history when he made his Milan debut at just 15 years and 260 days old.

Francesco Camarda later became the youngest Italian footballer to appear in the UEFA Champions League.

The forward spent last season with Lecce, making 23 appearances and scoring once in Serie A before earning further recognition at international level.

Camarda has already broken into the senior Italy squad and made his debut earlier this year.

With Amorim now officially in charge and Milan moving quickly to secure the future of one of their most highly-rated academy products, Camarda’s return represents the first signing of a new era at the club.
