Tottenham revive interest in recently-relegated PL star who is shining at World Cup 2026

Tottenham are set to battle Manchester United for the signing of West Ham attacker.

Tottenham Hotspur have already announced the signings of Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi on free transfers, with Jan Paul van Hecke set to join the duo at White Hart Lane after they reached a full agreement with Brighton and Hove Albion to sign the defender earlier this week.

Spurs are also in talks over a blockbuster deal to sign Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United. A deal for Tonali would see the club break the bank, and ENIC are ready to smash their transfer record this summer transfer window.

Tottenham also need quality reinforcements at the other end of the pitch. Manchester City’s Savinho is the North Londoners’ priority target in wide areas. At the same time, they are also scouring the market for left-wing options. Recently, it emerged that Spurs’ pursuit of West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville has collapsed. However, it does not appear like that.

Tottenham set to battle Manchester United for West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Tottenham are set to rival Manchester United for the signing of West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville. The Dutchman is set for a move this summer, after his club were relegated from the Premier League.

Crysencio Summerville, West Ham’s most consistent performer despite their relegation, scored on his World Cup debut for the Netherlands in the 2-2 draw with Japan earlier this week. The 24-year-old, who registered five goals and two assists in 31 league appearances this past season, has caught the eye with his explosive pace, dribbling and the goal threat he offers.

The report adds that a fee of £50million has been mooted for the wideman, who has three years left on his current deal at the London Stadium. However, the fee could be negotiable given the Hammers’ need to balance the books following relegation.

Manchester United have Summerville among their top wing targets this summer and have made formal enquiries. They view him as a prime candidate for the left-wing position, especially if Marcus Rashford leaves. Tottenham, on the other hand, have contacted West Ham and view him as a versatile attacking option.

While he is predominantly a left-winger, the former Leeds United talent has shown his versatility by playing off the right, through the middle as a No.10 and even as a false 9. As United will be playing in the Champions League, they hold a genuine edge over the Lilywhites in the chase for Summerville. As the summer transfer window progresses, the player’s future will be one to keep an eye on.
