New England selected Speed in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft and he played in five games with the team before being released in October that year.
The 26-year-old is a former college football national champion with Georgia and played 73 special teams snaps and 10 more on defense with the Patriots, recording three tackles.
Speed played in two games with the Houston Texans last season and posted two tackles before signing with the UFL's Houston Gamblers in April.
