Manchester United target Yan Diomande has opened up on his difficult journey to the top of football in an emotional letter that included memories of wearing a Manchester United shirt as a child.

Recalling his early years in Abidjan, Yan Diomande wrote to his late sister Roxane: “Remember when somebody bought me a fake United jersey, and I wrote Ronaldo 7 on the back with the black marker?”
The RB Leipzig forward explained how Cristiano Ronaldo was his idol growing up.
He described sneaking into the television room late at night to watch football while the rest of the household slept.
The letter also detailed the hardships he faced as a youngster, including periods of hunger, unsuccessful trials across Europe and eventually moving to the United States before earning an opportunity in Spain.
However, the most emotional part of the tribute centred on his sister Roxane, who tragically passed away at the age of 15.
Diomande revealed that every goal and every achievement in his career is now dedicated to her memory.
As transfer speculation surrounding the 19-year-old continues to intensify, the touching story offers a reminder of the sacrifices and personal struggles behind one of football’s brightest emerging talents.
