New Liverpool winger Victor Munoz, 22, has posted a social media message to his followers after his $46 million (£35 million) transfer move from Osasuna was confirmed.

Munoz has previously played for Barcelona and Real Madrid and is currently with the Spanish national team for the World Cup. He will join up with Liverpool after that under head coach Andoni Iraola.

He arrives to bolster a Liverpool attack that has already lost Mohamed Salah this summer when it was already in need of greater depth and pace. The Reds are also keen on snapping up Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig, though that will not be straightforward nor cheap.

"It's never easy to say goodbye to a place where I've been so happy and where I've experienced the best year of my football career," Munoz begins.

"From day one, I felt a connection to this badge, this shirt, and the values it represents. I've always tried to repay the affection I've received on the pitch, giving my all in every training session and every match.

"I've enjoyed every moment at El Sadar. Those magical afternoons and evenings, the atmosphere, the fans' unwavering support, and everything we've shared are memories I'll always cherish.

"I want to thank the board for believing in me and trusting me from the very beginning; the staff for helping me grow both as a footballer and as a person; and my teammates, who welcomed me from day one as one of their own, with whom I've shared unforgettable moments.

"I'm leaving with much more than just football. I'm taking friendships, lessons learned, and people who will be a part of my life forever.

"I also want to thank Navarre and Pamplona for how they welcomed me from day one. You made me feel at home, and that's something I'll never forget and can't thank you enough for. This land will always hold a very special place in my heart.

"And, of course, thank you to all the Osasuna fans for your support and for making me feel at home from the very beginning. Osasuna always in my heart. Thank you all so much. Go Osasuna!"
