Liverpool have had a €100million (£87m) bid for Yan Diomande rejected by RB Leipzig. The 19-year-old winger has emerged as a leading target to replace Mohamed Salah on the right flank, with Liverpool identifying him as a priority signing this summer.

The Reds have now submitted two offers for the highly rated teenager as they aim to beat Paris Saint-Germain to his signature.

Bundesliga side Leipzig are reportedly demanding more than €100million, with a fee closer to €120million (£104m) potentially required.

According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool are planning to return with an improved offer after their initial €100million package was turned down.

Plettenberg posted on X: “Liverpool plan to return very soon with an improved offer for Yan Diomande after their €100m package was rejected, as just revealed #LFC.”

“Liverpool are aware of Diomande‘s personal terms and do not expect any issues on that front should an agreement with RB Leipzig be reached. No offer from Paris Saint-Germain at this stage.”

The news comes shortly after Liverpool confirmed the signing of Spain winger Victor Munoz, following the activation of his £34.5million release clause.

Munoz is seen as a versatile attacking option, capable of operating on either flank, while Yan Diomande is viewed as the club’s primary candidate to eventually replace Mohamed Salah.

Diomande recorded 13 goals and 10 assists for RB Leipzig last season and has also impressed at the World Cup, featuring in Ivory Coast’s opening group game against Ecuador.

Should a deal for the 19-year-old fail to materialise, Liverpool are also monitoring alternatives including Yankuba Minteh of Brighton & Hove Albion, Said El Mala of FC Köln and Lille’s Matias Fernandez-Pardo.

RB Leipzig’s hierarchy are under no pressure to sell Yan Diomande, who has become a key figure in their attack. The German club are keen to keep hold of the 19-year-old and are instead focused on offering him a new contract to secure his long-term future at the Red Bull Arena.

Diomande’s value has risen sharply following an impressive domestic season, strengthening Leipzig’s stance amid growing interest from top European clubs.
