On June 1, the Cleveland Brownsdrew significant attention when they traded Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams. Many questioned why the Browns parted ways with him, including Deion Sanders.
Garrett just finished a historic 2025 campaign. He set the record for most sacks in a single season with 23, breaking Michael Strahan and T.J.Watt’s previous mark of 22.5. However, the Browns embraced the youth movement and are planning for the future.
The team received Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick and a 2029 third-round pick. The 25-year-old defensive end has shown a lot of promise, while the draft picks will help speed up their rebuild.

Deion Sanders Changes Tune on Browns Trading Myles Garrett
Sanders initially did not believe that trading Garrett was the right move. Before the Browns decided to part ways with their star DE, Sanders said that trading awat Garret “don’t make no sense to me.” The Hall of Fame defensive back emphasized how he believes Garrett is a “once in a lifetime man.”
However, Sanders has now changed his stance, stressing that he respects the front office’s decision.
“I’m happy with Mr. (Andrew) Berry, the G.M., and what he’s doing, I’m not going to question his direction of what he’s bringing to the table,”Sanders said, via Covers “I’m not there, so I don’t know all the intangibles that provoked that trade. I’m happy with what they got, and I can’t wait to see how it plays out.”
Deion, whose son, Shedeur Sanders, plays for the Browns, has been critical of the team’s recent moves. He lobbied for more talent on the offensive line to protect the quarterback.

Sanders, Dillon Gabriel, and Taylen Green have their sights set on proving their worth and moving up the depth chart.
