Liverpool fans think Yan Diomande could be on the move to join the club due to online flight tracking data

Few things move faster than a soccer transfer once a fanbase really wants a player, and no deep-digging search methods are off the table, including flight trackers.

A single private jet journey was enough to send Liverpool supporters spiraling into detective mode as speculation surrounding highly rated teenager Yan Diomande.

Social media users pointed to flight-tracking data showing a NetJets Cessna Citation Latitude on a route that appeared to connect locations relevant to both Fenway Sports Group and the Ivory Coast's World Cup squad.

Liverpool.com understands there has been no official bid but Liverpool has made it clear to RB Leipzig they are prepared to pay around $114 million to secure his signature.

Initial reports focused on a flight from Bedford, Massachusetts, near Boston and the headquarters of Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group, to Wilmington, Delaware. The winger is managed by Jay-Z's Roc Nation Sports and has also reportedly attracted interest from Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and others .

Wilmington is the Ivory Coast's World Cup camp location, leading some fans to wonder whether club representatives were meeting with Diomande or members of his entourage.

Excitement spread across social media as Liverpool fans had already begun to celebrate the potential deal. One supporter wrote: "good enough for me.... Yan Diomande, you are Liverpool red."

Another added, " Hope this flight is linked to the rumoured 105 mill bid thats been accepted." Others wondered whether FSG had previously used the aircraft, while some joked Liverpool should move quickly before Newcastle entered the race.

The same person who originally highlighted the flight later noted that the Ivory Coast's squad had already traveled to Toronto ahead of its next World Cup fixture. The aircraft's recent movements also suggest it was following a busy schedule unrelated to football.

On June 18, the jet traveled from Teterboro, New Jersey, to Bedford, Massachusetts, before later flying from Bedford to Wilmington. Prior journeys included stops in Horseshoe Bay, Texas; Corpus Christi, Texas; Columbus, Ohio; and Indianapolis, Indiana.

The 19-year-old winger started Ivory Coast's World Cup opener against Ecuador and consistently troubled defenders throughout the match. He delivered a dangerous cross that led to a shot off the crossbar in the 52nd minute.

Diomande repeatedly beat Piero Hincapie for pace down the right flank. Hincapie is Premier League-level and won the league with Arsenal this year. Diomande has recorded two shots with no goals or assists through one game of the competition thus far.

Ivory Coast is scheduled to face Germany at BMO Field in Toronto on Saturday as both nations sit tied at the top of their group. They will end their Group E stage phase against Curacao on June 25th at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA.
