Andoni Iraola is set for a busy summer transfer window, as Liverpool is preparing for a roster refresh that should hand the head coach some new options as soon as pre-season gets underway.
Jeremy Jacquet's move from Rennes has already been wrapped up, while talks are ongoing for Yan Diomande, but it's a now-confirmed transfer deal for Victor Munoz that has captured the imagination in the 48 hours or so. Liverpool triggered a $46 million release clause in the winger's deal at Osasuna, hijacking Premier League rival Newcastle in the process.
Munoz has shown plenty of promise, but many are left wondering what exactly he will bring to Anfield with him, as the 22-year-old looks set to make an impression in just his second full season of senior soccer.
There is plenty of insight from those who have followed the former Real Madrid man, be it coaches or experts from La Liga, who have given their thoughts on his ability.
La Liga expert Phil Minshull spoke to the BBC about Munoz and said: "He is an outstanding young talent. He's one of the pearls of Spanish football [soccer].
"He's been called up to the Spanish squad, and he's going to be part of the World Cup squad. He's a very strong, right-footed attacking winger. He can play both sides. He's very robust. Very physical. He challenges defenders

"One question mark over his technical abilities is his passing, as he only got two assists in the whole of last season.
"But he does take on defenders, and he provides all sorts of challenges for them, pulling players in his direction and opening up space for the other forwards.
"He can play either side of the park, and that makes him a valuable asset depending on the resources of the rest of the team. Also, he's always tracking back, and he's a strong tackler, so he's supporting the defenders as well. There's no question marks over his work rate."
That sounds perfect for Iraola's style, which will be implemented with Liverpool, as the slower, more possession-based ideas of Arne Slot are pushed to one side.

Liverpool FC have launched their new home kit for the 2026/27, inspired by iconic adidas strip worn during the club's 1989/90 title-winning campaign.
There has also been praise from Munoz's international manager, Luis de la Fuente, who called up the winger for Spain's World Cup squad this summer.
The 22-year-old only made his debut for the senior side back in March, but it was enough to show the head coach that the European champions could become World champions with him in their ranks.
"He's very humble," De la Fuente said after Munoz scored on debut for Spain against Serbia. "One more person joining the cause. I just ask him to keep it up, because it's the best way to grow.”

Liverpool fans will certainly hope that he keeps that up after becoming the first signing of the Andoni Iraola era.
