Bastian Schweinsteiger impressed by Johan Manzambi cameo for Switzerland
Swiss sensation Johan Manzambi is among the most impressive young talents on show at the World Cup this summer.
United in Focus tipped Manzambi as the one to watch from Switzerland, and now that has come to fruition with his breakout performance as the Swiss thrashed Bosnia 4-1.
Manzambi came off the bench to score twice and also got Tarik Muharemovic sent off.

This cameo drew praise from Schweinsteiger on X.
“Sometimes you only need a few minutes to change a game. Johan Manzambi comes on in the 72nd, scores twice, and forces a red card along the way. Two goals off the bench in a 4:1 win. Remember the name.”
In just 19 minutes, Manzambi did more than the rest of the Swiss side.

Manzambi’s versatility on full show for Switzerland
While Manzambi’s club excellence has been primarily as a midfielder, for the Swiss national team, he has been wearing the number nine shirt and used as a forward.
It clearly paid off for Switzerland, using Manzambi’s incredible physical qualities with speed and power as the perfect prototype striker to run in behind.
The Freiburg talent is so versatile that he could probably play anywhere on the pitch to a high degree, but long-term, he has every quality to be an elite number eight.
A special player who might have just announced himself on the world stage this summer, hard to imagine he won’t start against Canada after this.
Star in the making.
