Brighton & Hove Albion‘s Yasin Ayari has been asked about interest from Liverpool, after claims of Reds negotiations to sign him.
The Sweden international arrived from AIK Fotboll in January 2023 and gradually cemented his place.
His performances have reportedly caught the attention of Liverpool and other clubs.
In the winter market, Nottingham Forest showed interest in the midfielder, but a move never materialised.
In March, Ayari said he didn’t consider a move to the City Ground and was only focusing on the Seagulls.
Fast forward to June and claims from the UK are now stating Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United have him on their agenda. In addition to these Premier League sides, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are in the mix.
Brighton player responds to Liverpool links
Earlier this week, Yasin Ayari made his World Cup debut against Tunisia. He played the full 90 minutes and scored a brace as Sweden secured a 5-1 win.
Sweden face the Netherlands in their next clash on Saturday and ahead of this tie, the Brighton & Hove Albion star had a chat with Fotbollskanalen.
They directly asked the 22-year-old about the latest claims of negotiations with Liverpool and also mentioned Chelsea, Spurs, Newcastle United and other clubs.
Responding to that, he said: “I’m in the World Cup bubble, as they say. I don’t have a clue about anything. Everyone else is taking care of it for me. I’m just here and focusing on the World Cup.”
Sends message to new Brighton signing
Earlier this month, the Seagulls raided AIK Fotboll again to sign Zadok Yohanna.
Yasin Ayari says he will support the 18-year-old winger and help him settle in quickly in England.
“It will be fun. I haven’t seen much of him in the Swedish league, but it will be fun to start and see how he goes,” Ayari explained.
“I will take care of him, but many people will take care of him. It’s a family club, so it should go well.”
The Swede’s contract expires in 2027, and Transfermarkt value him at €35m. Without a renewal, Fabian Hürzeler’s side could be forced to sell him this summer.
