Victor Munoz’s heartfelt goodbye to Osasuna: First photo as Liverpool player leaks

Victor Munoz shared a heartfelt message to Osasuna upon his £34.5 million move to Liverpool on Thursday, after posing with his family as he signed his contract.

With Munoz currently on duty with Spain at the World Cup he is yet to undergo media duties with the club – their announcement a simple brief with no photos in a Liverpool shirt.

But the winger posed with next season’s home shirt as he signed his contract surrounding by family and friends, as shared by concierge Roger Castells on Instagram.

Munoz also took to Instagram to bid farewell to the club he spent last season with, having scored seven goals and laid on five assists in 36 games for Osasuna following his €6 million move from Real Madrid last summer.

In a long tribute to Osasuna and their fans, the Spaniard reflected on his “best footballing year” and said he was “taking away much more than football.”

“It’s never easy to say goodbye to a place where I’ve been so happy and where I’ve lived the best footballing year of my career,” Munoz wrote.

“From the very first day, I felt identified with this badge, this shirt, and the values it represents.

“I have always tried to give back on the pitch all the affection I have received, giving everything I had in every training session and every match.

“I have enjoyed every moment at El Sadar. Those magical afternoons and nights, the atmosphere, the unconditional support of the fans, and everything we have shared are memories that I will always keep in my heart.

“I want to thank the board for believing in and trusting me from the very beginning; the coaching staff for helping me grow both as a footballer and as a person; and my teammates, who welcomed me from day one as one more member of this great family, with whom I have shared unforgettable moments.

“I leave taking away much more than football. I take with me friendships, lessons, and people who will be part of my life forever.

“I also want to thank Navarre and Pamplona for the way they welcomed me from the first day. You made me feel at home, and that is something that is neither forgotten nor can ever be thanked enough. This land will always have a very special place in my heart.

“And, of course, thank you to all the Rojillos and Rojillas for your support and for making me feel at home from day one.

“Osasuna forever in my heart. Thank you all very much. Up Osasuna!”
