Liverpool fixtures in full as Andoni Iraola given tricky start to 2026/27 season

Andoni Iraola will face a tricky trip to Newcastle United in his first competitive match as Liverpool manager after the fixtures were revealed for the 2026/27 Premier League season this morning. The Spaniard replaced Arne Slot earlier this month after the Dutchman was surprisingly sacked for the Reds' dire title defence. Iraola has also stamped his mark with the signing of Spain winger Victor Munoz, from Osasuna, while the club are ready to pay over £86million to sign another wide forward in Yan Diomande.

And the Merseyside giants now know the schedule they will have to navigate next season as Iraola gets to grips with his squad. After opening the campaign against Newcastle at St James' Park at 4.30pm on Sunday August 23, Iraola will enjoy his competitive Anfield debut against Nottingham Forest the following weekend. The rest of their first five pits them against newly-promoted Ipswich Town (A), Fulham (H) and Bournemouth (A) with Iraola returning to his former club on the weekend of September 19/20.

Other notable dates see arch rivals Manchester United visit Anfield on November 21 while Iraola's first Merseyside derby takes place a week later on November 28 at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. The return matches both take place in January.

Liverpool face defending champions Arsenal at Anfield on October 31 and visit the Emirates on February 6. They will be reunited with club legend Andy Robertson, now playing for Tottenham, on December 19 at Anfield before visiting Spurs in February. They take on Xabi Alonso's Chelsea on December 5 and May 1, while Enzo Maresca's Manchester City come to Anfield on October 10 before the return fixture takes place on May 8.

The Reds travel to Hull City on Boxing Day before facing Aston Villa four days later at Villa Park. Liverpool then host Coventry City in their first match of 2027. Their run-in sees them take on Chelsea, Man City, Brentford, Brighton and Bournemouth all in the month of May. All dates after the first match are subject to change due to TV picks.
