The World Cup has brought about plenty of memorable moments, but reunions may not get any more emotional than the meeting of Liverpool icons Jurgen Klopp and Jordan Henderson during the tournament.

Since their days at Anfield, the former coach and ex-midfielder have gone down different paths in their career that brought them back to the tournament in America.

Klopp has stepped into a senior role with the Red Bull group as the Head of Global Soccer, but he has also taken on a role as a pundit during the competition this summer for German television station Magenta TV. As for Henderson, he has had a spell in Saudi Arabia and the Netherlands, before returning to the Premier League, where he currently plays for Brentford and recently earned a recall to the England national team squad.

It's at England's first game of the tournament against Croatia where both Klopp and Henderson crossed paths once again, with the former covering the match as the pundit while the latter was part of the squad for the clash.

The former midfielder was spotted making a beeline for his old coach, rushing over to have a quick conversation with an embrace and a few laughs shared.

It was a moment that could bring a smile to the face and a tear to the eye of many Liverpool fans, as the modern greats of the club continue to embrace everything that made their time at Anfield a great experience.

Henderson ended up making 304 appearances for Klopp, the most of any coach the 36-year-old has had by some distance, with Brendan Rodgers second on the list with 140 matches.

In that time, the midfielder managed to pick up 13 goals and 28 assists, while his leadership qualities meant he was trusted to be the club captain under Klopp, setting the standards that led to the eventual success they achieved together.

Henderson won eight trophies with the Reds, as well as being voted Player of the Year in the Premier League for 2019/20, winning the club's vote for 2020 as well.
