Liverpool’s full fixture list for the 2026–27 Premier League season has been officially released. Newcastle United away at St James’ Park on Sunday 23rd August (4.30pm) is Andoni Iraola’s first game.
Arsenal will enter the new season as reigning champions for the first time in 22 years and will aim to defend their title against strong competition from Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United.
The Premier League will also feature three newly promoted sides – Coventry City, Ipswich Town, and Hull City – all hoping for a strong start after stepping up from the Championship.
The opening round is scheduled for Saturday, August 22, a slightly later start than the previous campaign due to scheduling adjustments and recovery time after the World Cup.
The season will conclude on Sunday, May 30, 2027, with all final-day fixtures kicking off simultaneously. In total, the 2026–27 season will consist of 33 weekend match rounds and five midweek rounds of fixtures, shaping what is expected to be another tightly contested campaign at both ends of the table.

Liverpool will aim to reclaim the Premier League title after Arne Slot’s championship-winning debut season in 2024/25.
New head coach Andoni Iraola has been tasked with driving a new era at Anfield following his appointment earlier this month, with expectations high for an attacking, progressive style of play influenced by his work at Bournemouth.
Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams believes Liverpool are “absolutely” capable of winning the Premier League under Iraola next season, backing the Spaniard to restore the club’s challenge at the top after a fifth-place finish in the most recent campaign.
When asked if Liverpool can win the Premier League with Iraola in charge, Tyler Adams said: “Can they? Liverpool? Absolutely. Under how he plays the game, with the types of players that they have and the style that he’s going to want to play, absolutely.”
If Iraola is to emulate Slot by winning the Premier League in his first season as Liverpool head coach, it would be a remarkable achievement from the 43-year-old.
