NFL star says it’s “crazy” he has to pay full price for World Cup tickets at team’s own stadium

Los Angeles Rams star Kam Curl believes it’s “crazy” that NFL players are asked to pay “full price” for World Cup tickets, even though games are being held at their home stadiums.

In the build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, plenty of fans, players, and coaches voiced their concerns about ticket prices, cost of accommodation, and how expensive it is to travel to games. Some fans have blown their life savings on following their home nation over to the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

While some games have seen ticket prices drop to make it cheaper for fans to get in the door, others have skyrocketed, making it even more expensive than it was pre-tournament. It’s even more expensive to park at some games than it is to attend.

With games in the United States taking place at NFL-specific stadiums, you might be forgiven for thinking that players on those teams have gotten free tickets, or can use any luxury boxes they already own.

NFL star can’t believe World Cup tickets aren’t cheaper for him

According to Los Angeles Rams safety Kam Curl, they’re actually expected to pay full price, and as a result, he is watching games at home instead.

“Nah, they talking about we got to pay full price,” he said after NFL reporter Kay Adams asked if he would be attending any games at the Rams’ SoFi Stadium.

“It’s crazy, y’all at our stadium. It is what it is. I’ll watch on TV.”

While Curl won’t attend, plenty of other celebrities hav stumped up the cash to go, and are regularly being shown between when there are breaks in play.

These camera cuts to show celebrities have annoyed fans watching at home, as well as commentators broadcasting the game.

Streaming show IShowSpeed has popped up on the sidelines a few times already, and is actually being allowed to broadcast games on his YouTube channel. That’ll include the final, which is being held at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
