Iraola on fire: Exciting new Liverpool transfer claim emerges after Victor Munoz signing

“Munoz is the first new addition since the arrival of head coach Andoni Iraola and will link up with his new teammates later this summer after his participation in the tournament with his national team has concluded.”

Liverpool fans will be hoping that this is just the start this summer, however, and a fresh update from Football Insider says that the Reds are looking at four key areas to target.

On top of Munoz, the Merseysiders are said to be also “pursuing” a central midfielder, centre-back, right-back and right winger, as they continue to eye up a replacement for Mohamed Salah.

A summer that cannot afford to go wrong at Liverpool

This feels like a huge summer at Liverpool, with Andoni Iraola looking to bring in the right players to suit his system and turn things around after an awful 2025/26 season under Arne Slot.

Munoz is a good place to start, giving the Reds the pace out wide that has been so sorely lacking of late, but the several positions mentioned in the above report are just as important.

Liverpool’s midfield felt lifeless at times last term, so some young legs in the middle of the park are essential, whether it be Adam Wharton, Alex Scott or someone else.

A new centre-back is also a must, following Ibrahima Konate’s move to Real Madrid – preferably an experienced head who can allow Jeremy Jacquet and Giovanni Leoni to develop at their own speed.

Meanwhile, a right-back has to be targeted, too, due to Conor Bradley’s injury, and a Salah successor such as Yan Diomande is a clear priority.

It will be fascinating to see how Liverpool’s summer plays out, but Iraola doesn’t appear to be messing around, as a new era dawns at Anfield.
