Desire to sign Liverpool player by July 16th–Wanted for pre-season camp

Inter Milan have remained in the hunt for Liverpool‘s Curtis Jones and could soon push for a deal.

Sport Witness have previously covered how Reds’ sporting director Richard Hughes met Inter counterpart Piero Ausilio. This led to the Nerazzurri making a formal offer for the player, who is valued at €30m.

Inter could only put forward €20m but haven’t walked away.

There has been some confidence that Liverpool’s valuation could drop. Inter were keen on using links with Arthur Atta as a way to increase the pressure on the English club, trying to the Reds believe they were moving on.

Now, Inter have made plans for when to sign the Englishman.

Player needed for pre-season

Today’s Gazzetta dello Sport take a look at Inter’s incomings. They are making progress in a move for Marco Palestra, who is expected to arrive from Atalanta. Once that deal is sealed, they will look towards signing Udinese’s Oumar Solet and Liverpool’s Jones.

To be best prepared to defend their league title, Inter want the midfielder before their pre-season training starts on July 16th.

Despite the short timeframe, the Nerazzurri are confident Liverpool will give in to their demands. While Andoni Iraola’s side haven’t budged from their €30m value, Inter seem to have a plan in mind.

They are sure that the player’s desire to join them will dictate the transfer. He has a year left on his deal, which will force the Reds into reducing their demands.

Inter shouldn’t take it for granted

While Inter’s stance is fair, Liverpool may have plans of their own. They know that Jones isn’t renewing his contract and they could be forced into an sale. There is every chance they’re waiting for more offers to come in for the 25-year-old.

He has done enough in the Premier League to make a mark. English clubs have been linked with him and they can offer more than Inter are right now.

Besides, Liverpool don’t sell their players chealpy. Inter should know that.
