Mason Mount officially trains with 7th tier English team

Mason Mount heads into the new season facing an important period in his Manchester United career, with competition for midfield places expected to intensify following further additions to the squad.
The midfielder ended the previous season featuring in a deeper role at times, even operating as a No.6 in the closing stages, but his long-term position in the side remains uncertain as United reshape their midfield under Michael Carrick.
With new arrivals expected in the engine room, Mason Mount is set for a battle to secure regular minutes and re-establish himself as a key figure at Old Trafford.
Away from competitive action, the 27-year-old has taken an unusual approach to his off-season preparations in a bid to maintain fitness and sharpness.
Mason Mount trains at Chatham Town
Mount was spotted training with Chatham Town, a seventh-tier English club based in Kent, with the Isthmian League Premier Division side sharing his involvement on their Instagram page.
The club compete at Step 3 of the National League System and play their home matches at the Bauvill Stadium, offering a very different environment to Premier League football.
The decision reflects Mount’s determination to stay in peak condition after a frustrating spell that also saw him fall out of the England setup.
Earlier in the year, he was also involved in a charitable football event, taking on a managerial role with Wishes United FC in a match organised in collaboration with Make-A-Wish UK.
That appearance highlighted his willingness to step away from the elite level temporarily to contribute to community-driven projects.
Now, however, the focus returns firmly to Manchester United, where Mount will be expected to compete for his place as the club continue to strengthen midfield options ahead of the new season.
With increased depth in the squad and tactical changes underway, the coming months could prove decisive in shaping his long-term role at Old Trafford.
