Ingram, Armstead inducted to Saints Hall of Fame

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Two Saints favorites are headed to the team’s Hall of Fame.

Running back Mark Ingram and left tackle Terron Armstead are entering the Saints Hall of Fame together. The two players’ careers overlapped in New Orleans.

Both players are getting in on their first year of eligibility. Armstead played for the Saints for seven seasons and followed in the footsteps of a long line of great left tackles to wear black and gold. Ingram spent eight years with the Saints and became the ninth running back to get the nod to the Saints Hall.

“That’s the measure of success in the NFL: how do you improve? How do you continue to get better? As I said, there was ups and downs. There were successes and failures. But over the course of my career, I felt like I got better and better and better. I got more confident, I got more productive, I got more consistent, you know, learned pass protection better. I learned how to come out the backfield and run routes and catch the ball better. I learned situationally, you know, not always trying to hit a home run. Sometimes, 3 or 4 yards in a cloud of dust is more than enough, you know, stepping into a leadership role where you’re helping younger guys. I think that’s something that, you know, I’m really proud of. Even throughout all the years of playing and the success we had as a team, Pro Bowl, All Pro, all that, but man, this, this feels like I’m entering into a room,” Ingram said.
