Manchester United have been heavily focused on improving key areas of the team, with midfield viewed as the biggest priority during the transfer window.
Alongside their recruitment plans, United are also keeping track of some of Europe’s most exciting young talents.
The club have monitored several attacking prospects.
With major fees being discussed for some of the game’s brightest youngsters, United have been forced to make decisions over where their budget is best used.
The winger market remains competitive, with several top clubs looking to secure the next generation of attacking stars.
Liverpool prepare huge offer for Yan Diomande
According to Dave OC Kop, Liverpool are now preparing a huge €115 million bid for RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande after their opening offer for the teenager was rejected.
The Reds are viewing the Ivory Coast international as their priority target to eventually replace Mohamed Salah and are willing to spend heavily to beat the competition.
Liverpool’s first attempt was worth up to €100 million, including €90 million upfront and another €10 million in potential add-ons, but Leipzig rejected the proposal.
Despite that setback, reports indicate Liverpool are ready to return with an improved package as they look to secure one of Europe’s most in-demand young forwards.
Yan Diomande has enjoyed a rapid rise over the last year, becoming one of the Bundesliga’s standout talents while also earning international recognition with Ivory Coast.
The 19-year-old has already shown his attacking quality, recording 13 goals and 10 assists in 36 appearances across all competitions this season.
His profile has grown even further after being named Man of the Match in Ivory Coast’s World Cup victory over Ecuador.
Manchester United were previously among the clubs tracking Diomande, but the club have decided against matching the massive valuation currently being discussed.
United have reportedly informed people close to the player that they will not pay €100 million for him, with their main summer investment expected to be focused on rebuilding the midfield.
Although Diomande remains a highly rated talent, United’s recruitment strategy means they are unlikely to compete with Liverpool’s proposed blockbuster move.
The coming weeks will reveal whether Leipzig can resist another huge offer or whether Diomande becomes the latest teenager to command a nine-figure transfer fee.
