Manchester United remain indirectly involved in the evolving situation surrounding Mason Greenwood, with his performances in Europe continuing to attract attention from some of the biggest clubs on the continent.
The former United forward has rebuilt his career in France with Marseille, where his output has placed him among the club’s most valuable assets heading into the summer transfer window.
Interest is now growing rapidly across multiple leagues, with Premier League sides and European giants monitoring a situation that could also deliver a financial windfall for United due to a sell-on clause.
Arsenal and Tottenham are both reportedly keen on the 24-year-old, as per L’Equipe, with the North London rivals looking to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.
Roma are also closely tracking developments and are preparing an opening offer believed to be around €40 million, as Marseille consider potential exits in a difficult financial position.
The French club are understood to be under pressure to sell players in order to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations, with Mason Greenwood viewed internally as one of their most valuable saleable assets and potentially the biggest source of income.
He is currently valued at around €80 million, although Marseille may struggle to turn down a significant offer if one arrives that exceeds market expectations.
Greenwood is under contract until 2029 and has publicly stated his desire to remain at the club, despite growing transfer speculation around his future.
Manchester United, however, still retain a 40% sell-on clause from the deal that took him to Marseille, meaning any future transfer would directly benefit the club financially.
His form has been a major factor in the rising interest, with Greenwood registering 26 goals and 11 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions during the 2025/26 campaign.
Elsewhere, Fenerbahce were also previously linked with a move for the forward, with reports even suggesting an agreement had been reached in principle during their presidential election period.
Candidate Hakan Safi had claimed Greenwood would join if he won the vote, but Aziz Yildirim ultimately secured victory with 17,245 votes to Safi’s 9,927, ending that possibility.
Following that outcome, a move to Fenerbahce is now off the table.
Despite this, a Premier League return is still viewed as unlikely at this stage due to the circumstances surrounding his departure from England, even as interest continues to build from multiple top-level clubs.
