According to reports, Jackson and a woman became involved in a verbal argument during which he allegedly believed she was recording him on her phone and attempted to take the device from her. Investigators observed scratch marks on the woman’s arms. The initial charge involved allegations of willfully inflicting corporal injury.

Recently, on June 18, 2026, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office determined that Jackson would not face felony charges. The case has been forwarded to the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office for review of possible misdemeanor offenses. The city attorney’s office confirmed the matter remains under review.

The woman involved reportedly filed for a temporary restraining order which has been granted. A hearing for a permanent order scheduled for July 1. There have been some rumors that the woman was pregnant at the time, though it is unverified. While the new legal update is a win for Jackson, he could still face some problems in his career.

Alaric Jackson’s future at Rams in doubt

Previously, the Rams organization confirmed that it is aware of the incident regarding Jackson, and declined to make any further comments. While it is confirmed he will not face felony charges, the franchise could still take action against him.

Head coach Sean McVay has previously been noted as saying that “treatment of women is one of the core non-negotiables in his team culture.” While Jackson is a reliable player, the team may decide to move on from him. Furthermore, he was previously suspended for two games in 2024, and faces a civil lawsuit for allegedly recording sexual acts without consent and using it to insult the victim.

Even though legally he won’t face any problems, the NFL could still choose to discipline according to their own rules if there is enough evidence. It remains to be seen what happens to Alaric Jackson in the coming period.
