Man Utd have Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae on their shortlist of transfer targets, according to journalist Christian Falk.
Writing on his personal website, CF Bayern Insider, Falk said the 29-year-old is being eyed by the Red Devils, although Serie A side Juventus are currently leading the race for his signature:
“Min-jae Kim is on the list at Manchester United. However, I heard that a deal is hotter with Juventus in Italy. That said, it’s not certain that the South Korea international will even leave Bayern Munich, as he’s enjoying his role at the club.”

“Let’s see what happens with Juventus; then perhaps talks will open with United if things don’t work out with the Serie A outfit.”
Kim is not a regular starter at Bayern
Despite the Bundesliga champions having paid €50m for his services in the summer of 2023, they have been trying to offload him for the best part of 12 months.
Kim is behind Dayot Upamecano and Jonathan Tah in the pecking order at the Allianz Arena, and he made just 19 league starts as a result last campaign.
However, as Falk points out, the South Korean isn’t pushing to leave, despite his lack of minutes, so we shall have to see whether he does move clubs over the coming weeks.
Man Utd are not prioritising a move for a centre-back
Heading into the summer, it was confirmed by several sources that Director of Football Jason Wilcox had singled out three positions – central midfield, left-back and left-wing – for strengthening.
A couple of centre-halves – Nottingham Forest’s Murillo and Tottenham’s Micky van de Ven – were scouted, but the Red Devils are not currently focused on reinforcing the middle of the defence.
While Kim may be on a list of names if United do decide to add a centre-back, it doesn’t look like a bid is imminent.
